EKE wins Talgo Haramain High Speed Train project

EKE was selected to provide a complete Train Control and Management System to Talgo Haramain High Speed Train. This multimillion contract positions EKE as one of the most trusted and reliable supplier of Train Management Systems.

EKE was selected by Patentes Talgo to provide a complete Train Control and Management System (TCMS) to the Haramain  High Speed Train in Saudi Arabia. The EKE Trainnet® solution includes a hybrid Train Communication Network including WTB, MVB, Ethernet and CAN buses. Trainnet® monitors the train behavior (e.g. safety critical information such as wheel temperature and wheel instability) and collects diagnostic data from the entire train.

EKE has been working closely with Patentes Talgo for several years in other demanding projects and is proud to cooperate again on what will be the most modern high speed line in the world. The Haramain high speed trains – 35 for passengers and 1 for the Royal Saudi Family – will be delivered by Patentes Talgo, starting late 2014, to Saudi Arabia where they will connect Mecca and Medina via Jeddah.

Mr. Pekka Kuusela, CEO at EKE Electronics said:
We are proud to be part of this high-profile project. Supplying a Train Control and Monitoring System to a high-speed train running 350 km/h is a challenging job. The fact that Talgo has chosen EKE to supply TCMS shows that EKE is a trusted partner for very demanding train projects when it comes to reliability, technical features and life-cycle cost.
